WHAT I DO
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. I provide psychotherapy to adults and teenagers.
My primary objective with all my clients is to create a completely safe, private, confidential, accepting, non-judgmental, valuing, understanding, and empowering therapeutic relationship.
I believe that these components alone can often be enough to bring the changes that you seek to make in your life. Whatever you are struggling with, I strive to meet you where you are, understand your experience, and help you achieve your goals for change.
I work with people who struggle with mood disorders (anxiety/depression/bi-polar), relationship concerns, vocational/career issues, disability complications, existential concerns, and even just general life dissatisfaction. I specialize in addiction and substance abuse recovery, and am also an LGBT+ affirming therapist.
I am primarily a cognitive behavioral therapist. The essence of this type of therapy is that changing how you THINK about and PERCEIVE things changes how you both feel and behave. This type of therapy has been around for decades and is one of the most well-researched and empirically supported counseling methods.
I have a Bachelor of Finance degree from the University of Texas and a Master of Community Counseling degree from the University of North Georgia. I grew up in Austin, TX, but have called Georgia my home for the past 16 years. I am an avid musician, woodworker, fisherman, gamer, motorcycle rider, and racquetball player, and I have a wonderful cat (Peter Gibbons) and an amazing dog (Gillie). I would be honored to work with you on whatever you are struggling with. Please feel free to contact me with any questions!
