I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.  I provide psychotherapy to individual adults.

I have a passion for helping people heal from old wounds.  The ways of being that we developed as children to survive within our families of origins often end up being sources of difficulty, pain, depression, anxiety, fear, addictions, harmful behavior patterns, and disconnection later in our lives.  I try to be of help to people who want to see and understand how their upbringing shaped who and how they are…as a stepping stone to grieving losses and hurts…with an end goal of experiencing some healing and freedom from old ways of being that no longer serve us.  

I believe that I do my best work with motivated clients who are interested in truly working on themselves, both within and outside of sessions. My therapy style is generally warm, friendly, empathetic, and non-directive, and I may even shed a tear with you occasionally.  I am increasingly interested in helping my clients get in touch with a sense of self-compassion for their struggles.  I am not a good fit for anyone who is looking for therapists at someone else’s pleading.

I have been licensed in and actively practicing in Georgia for the past 10 years and I have a great deal of personal and professional experience with psychological, emotional, somatic, and behavioral healing.  I am an LGBT+ affirming-therapist and I provide secular therapy...meaning that I have no religious beliefs and I will not impose any on you as my client.  This also means however that I will fully support you in your personal religious beliefs if you have them.

A bit about me:
 I largely grew up in Austin, TX, but have called Georgia my home for the past few decades.  ​I have a Bachelor of Finance degree from the University of Texas (1999) and a Master of Community Counseling degree from the University of North Georgia (2011).  I am an avid musician (mainly saxophone) and I LOVE being outside in nature.   I absolutely love animals and I've had some amazing pets...below are Gillie and Peter Gibbons...but they are all no longer with us.  I am also a regular racquetball player and, new in 2025, a very frequent traveler, which I find is becoming just as much about exploring myself as exploring the outside world.
